ARDEX DPM 1 C One Coat Epoxy Damp Proof Membrane

ARDEX DPM 1 C is a high-performance epoxy damp proof membrane designed to suppress residual construction moisture and rising damp in concrete and cement/sand screeds. This solvent-free, two component one coat epoxy DPM accommodates hygrometer readings up to 98% RH, making it ideal for projects with very high moisture levels.

Applied in a single coat, this surface DPM for concrete provides effective moisture suppression where a structural damp proof membrane is absent or ineffective. It is also suitable for calcium sulphate (anhydrite) screeds up to 90% RH, subject to site conditions, and adheres to saturated concrete even at lower temperatures.

ARDEX DPM 1 C allows overcoating with ARDEX smoothing and levelling compounds from approximately 6 hours at 20°C, helping maintain efficient workflow on site. Once cured, the epoxy membrane forms a continuous, pinhole-free film with excellent resistance to water, grease and dilute chemicals.

This 98% RH epoxy DPM is compatible with water-based underfloor heating systems within cementitious screeds and provides a durable moisture barrier beneath resilient, textile and wood floor coverings.

What Can This Product Be Used For?

ARDEX DPM 1 C is a one coat damp proof membrane and residual moisture suppressant for concrete slabs, cement/sand screeds and calcium sulphate screeds. It protects floorcoverings from residual construction moisture and rising damp, and can be used where a structural damp proof membrane is not present or is ineffective.

How Should This Product Be Applied?

Mix the two components thoroughly and apply an even coat using the recommended V-shaped notched trowel, then flatten the ridges with a short pile roller while the product is still wet. Apply at temperatures above 10°C.

Is This Compatible With Underfloor Heating?

Yes. ARDEX DPM 1 C is suitable for use on heated concrete and cement/sand screeds. The underfloor heating should be switched off for 48 hours before and after installation, and the surface temperature must not exceed 27°C.

How Many M² Will This Cover?

Coverage depends on the moisture level being treated. A 6kg unit covers up to 15m² (85% RH), 12.6m² (92% RH) or 10.8m² (98% RH). Coverage will vary depending on the substrate and required film thickness.

When Is This Ready For The Next Stage?

ARDEX DPM 1 C can receive ARDITEX NA after approximately 6 hours and other compatible ARDEX levelling compounds once the membrane is hard and dry. Typical overcoating and walkability are achieved after 6–8 hours at 20°C.
