How Much Polyflor Fusionline Do I Need? A Coverage Guide
Before ordering Polyflor Fusionline LVT, it's important to know the size of your room and the Fusionline format you've chosen. Different plank, parquet and tile formats contain different quantities per box, so the coverage isn't exactly the same across the range.
This guide explains the Fusionline pack sizes and a simple way to estimate how many boxes you'll need for your project.
Polyflor Fusionline Box Coverage
According to Polyflor's current Fusionline PUR technical specification, the range is available in four formats:
|
Fusionline Format |

|
Large Tile |

Although the formats vary considerably in size, each box covers approximately 3.34–3.37m².
How Do I Calculate How Much Fusionline I Need?
Start by calculating the floor area of the room in square metres.
For a simple rectangular room:
Room length × room width = total floor area
For example, a room measuring 5m × 4m has a total floor area of 20m².
If you're using a Fusionline design with approximately 3.34m² per box, 20 ÷ 3.34 = 5.99. As flooring is supplied in complete boxes, this means you would need at least 6 boxes to cover the measured area before allowing for cuts, wastage or spares.
Don't Forget to Allow for Wastage
Your measured floor area shouldn't necessarily be the only figure you use when placing an order.
Flooring may need to be cut around walls, corners, doorways and other obstacles. The amount of additional material required can also depend on the room layout and the installation pattern.
This is particularly worth considering with Fusionline because the collection includes parquet formats, where the chosen layout can affect material requirements.
Rather than assuming a universal wastage percentage, calculate the requirements for the individual project and installation pattern. A professional flooring installer can help determine the appropriate quantity.
Which Fusionline Format Should I Choose?
Coverage is very similar across the Fusionline range, so your choice can primarily be based on the look you want to achieve.
Full Plank provides a traditional wood-plank appearance and is available across a wide selection of Fusionline wood designs.
Large and Small Parquet allow more detailed flooring layouts to be created using smaller wood-effect pieces.
Large Tile is used for Fusionline's larger stone-effect designs, providing an alternative to the wood and parquet formats.
All four formats share the same 2.5mm overall gauge and 0.55mm wear layer.
Ordering Fusionline for Larger Areas
For larger commercial installations or rooms with irregular shapes, it's particularly important to calculate each area carefully before ordering.
Breaking an irregular floor plan into smaller rectangles can make calculating the overall square meterage easier. Add the individual areas together before determining the number of boxes required.
Remember that Fusionline can only be ordered in complete packs, so always round your final box calculation up rather than down.
