What Are Delphin Knives?

The original Delphin knife is manufactured in Germany by Reddig Gmbh. The Delphin knife is the most popular knife among floor fitters for its unique shape and durability. The Delphin Knife can be used for cutting carpets, PVC coverings, bitumen sheeting, insulating materials, and much more. The Delphin knife includes a quick blade change feature, an Internal blade compartment and safe storage in the supplied plastic holder. The Delphin Knife is also perfectly suitable for cutting through packing material, bituminous sheeting, roofing felt, carpet, pvc-flooring, pvc-foil, Styrofoam and insulating material.

Why should You Change Your Blade And How Often?

You should change your blades regularly to ensure a precise cut each time. Failing to change your blade when it becomes blunt will decrease the quality of the cut and it may snap or fail to slice completely. Anti cut gloves will protect your hands to avoid any accidents.

What Variation Of Blades Is Available?

Here at Floormart we have a range of five Delphin Blades. They are all made to fit the Delphin knives, however they do also fit various other trimming knives that can be found on the market. Each variation of blade is used to cut different materials. Using the correct blade allows a precise cut each time, which ensures you get the best out of your Delphin knife.

What Is A Straight Blade And What Is It Used For?

A straight blade is mostly used for general floor laying practices as it cuts materials such as foils, bitumen sheets, linoleum, PVC coverings, carpets, felt, paper, wallpaper, cardboard, rubber, leather, textiles, Styrofoam & drywall panels.

What Is A Hooked Blade And What Is It Used For?

Hooked blades are generally used for carpet fitting, as the curved blade can hook beneath and cut through tougher flooring materials. However it can also be used for many other practices such as cutting foils, bitumen sheets, linoleum, PVC coverings, carpets, felt, paper, wallpaper, cardboard, rubber, leather & textiles.

What Is A Super Hooked Blade And How Is It Different From A Regular Hooked Blade?

A super hooked blade is larger, in order to cut thicker materials such as deep pile carpet. It’s important to ensure you have the correct hooked blade to get an accurate cut depending on the thickness of the material. Purchasing multiple blades will give you a range of options if you are interested in general flooring.

Safety Guide To Handling Blades.

Remember when handling knives and blades that it’s important to protect your hands with safety equipment such as anti cut gloves.
