  • Cheaper alternative.
  • Supports the whole of the knee.
  • Prevents damage to the tendons and cartilage.
  • Good for knee kicking.

Cons

  • Doesn’t support the whole of the leg.

4 Fento Original - £75.59 Inc VAT

https://floormart.co.uk/fento-original-kneepads/

Previously known as the Fento 200 Pro, the Fento Original is Fento's best seller in Europe and the UK. Like the AP 16, this is the smaller version of the Fento Max. A smaller version to adhere to the customers who don’t necessarily want a full leg knee pad. The perfect kneepad for everyday wear.

Pros

  • Improved fit which takes on the shape of your own knee after a while and thus offers even greater comfort, flexibility, and ergonomics.
  • Wear-resistant and has a broad, flat surface for extra stability.
  • Replaceable inlay for when it needs to be replaced (the support offered by the inlay reduces after repeated use) so you need not buy a completely new knee protector.
  • Completely water repellent.
  • Weighs just 250 grams.
  • The wide elastic straps do not pinch behind the knee.
  • The Fento Max offers more freedom of movement.

Cons

  • Doesn’t support your whole leg.
  • Not ideal for knee kicking

3 Fento Max - £105.84 Inc VAT

Previously known as the Fento 400, the stylish Fento Max is the big brother of the Fento Original. The Netherlands based company has revolutionised the flooring industry. Like the 0714, this knee pad focuses on protection for the whole leg and not just the knee.

Pros

  • The Ergonomic Wedge ensures the correct distribution of pressure across the lower leg, which prevents knee and back complaints.
  • An improved fit which takes on the shape of your own knee after a while and thus offers even greater comfort, flexibility, and ergonomics.
  • Wear-resistant and has a broad, flat surface for extra stability.
  • Replaceable inlay for when it needs to be replaced (the support offered by the inlay reduces after repeated use) so you need not buy a completely new knee protector.
  • Water repellent.
  • Weighs just 500 grams.
  • The wide elastic straps do not pinch behind the knee.

Cons

  • Expensive initial investment for the product.
  • Bigger piece of equipment.

2 ProKnee AP 16 - £119.40 Inc VAT

https://floormart.co.uk/proknee-ap16-all-purpose-k...

The AP 16 knee pad from ProKnee is the one size fits all version of the 0714. This knee pad is the cheaper and smaller alternative of the ProKnee knee pad range. A suitable option for any worker who needs a smaller pair for more domestic based jobs but still ideal for commercial jobs.

Pros

  • Wider adjustable straps, pre angled to allow two different strap placement options for wearer's desired comfort level.
  • Radius on frame perimeter ribbing provides maximum flexibility in extreme kneeling positions.
  • Easy to transport.
  • A knee pocket shape surrounds the knee joint area to hold the joint tight and creates stability as you kneel on literally anything.
  • Safe, resilient, and replaceable cellular urethane cushions help absorb shock out of day-to-day wear and tear from kneeling.
  • All Parts are replaceable. Moulded in frame components make replacing parts easy, fast, and economical.
  • Light kneepad to ensure an easy fit and comfortability.

Cons

  • Expensive investment in comparison to other knee pads.
  • Does not give you full leg support like the 0714.
  • Due to thickness, it can be a struggle to use with a knee kicker.

1 ProKnee 0714 / E - £296.46 Inc VAT

https://floormart.co.uk/proknee-model-0714-standar...

The 0714-knee pad is the most expensive knee pad in this list. However, it is clear from the rest in terms of comfort and value for money. A perfect pair for big commercial and domestic jobs. ProKnee promote their product as “knee insurance.” Whilst they are an American based company, it would make sense why they promote it in that manner, as they don’t have the blessing of the NHS. However, the point still stands, and surgery is still a huge commitment and can be easily avoided.

Pros

  • Custom fit feature allows for a superior fit that provides maximum protection.
  • Straps are located well below the knee joint to eliminate uncomfortable pinching and circulation issues.
  • The E wide version to ensure everyone can get a custom fit.
  • ProKnees patented shin support system takes weight off the joints and spreads it out over the length of the shins. This enables even weight distribution.
  • Even weight distribution creates a centre of balance at the midpoint of the shins (rather than directly on the knees). Which reduces pressure and forces the user to use proper kneeling techniques.
  • A knee pocket shape surrounds the knee joint area to hold the joint tight and create stability as you kneel on literally anything.

Cons

  • Expensive initial investment for the product.
  • Big piece of equipment so it can be difficult to transport.
  • Due to thickness, it can be a struggle to use with a knee kicker.
