Linoleum FAQs

Linoleum FAQs

Posted by Tom Shaw on 18th Nov 2022

Is Linoleum still popular?

Although facing stiff competition from vinyl, Linoleum remains a popular flooring choice. It’s durable, sustainable, eco-friendly and very attractive. It’s also affordable and features many fantastic designs.

Vinyl VS Linoleum

Both are durable floor coverings; vinyl is more suited to high moisture environments such as bathrooms - as the natural materials in Linoleum can suffer. Linoleum also has a 20 -40 year lifespan, whereas vinyl flooring has a lifespan of only half that.

How long does Linoleum Last

When looked after (which is not difficult), Linoleum can last between 20-40 years in a commercial and domestic environment.

Linoleum Advantages

It’s affordable, highly versatile, eco-friendly and is easy to repair. It has natural anti-bacterial properties and is quiet to live with and use.

Is Linoleum suitable for Kitchens?

Yes! Linoleum is soft underfoot and can also be used with underfloor heating - making it the ideal choice for many kitchens.

Is Linoleum Toxic?

No! It contains no toxic products.
