How to cut Luxury Vinyl Tiles

How to cut Luxury Vinyl Tiles

Posted by Tom Shaw on 13th Sep 2022

Vinyl Floor Tiles are an excellent choice for many commercial & domestic premises, boasting many different advantages - including ease of installation. If you are installing Luxury Vinyl Tiles in your home, there will be times when your LVT’s need to be cut. Although vinyl tiles do come in the shape of a square, when fitting vinyl tiles next to walls and other areas of a room - they will need to be cut into the correct shape for a neat and tidy install.

The first step in cutting a luxury vinyl tile is to mark the area on the tile which needs cutting - use a pencil and ruler, or even another vinyl tile to measure on the tile what needs cutting. Once you have checked the measurements are correct, lightly score the tile along the pencil line you have drawn on the tile. Scoring of the LVT can be done with a utility knife. Follow the scoring again with the utility knife, as it’s unlikely that the first score will have gone completely through the tile.

Take your time when cutting LVT and always cut away from your body, ensuring you remain safe. When cutting Luxury Vinyl Tiles always take your time, and ensure precise cuts - to ensure a professional finish.
