How To Maintain Commercial Flooring?

Posted by Caitlin Davis on 14th Feb 2024

Maintaining commercial flooring is important to ensure the long lifespan of floor coverings. If neglected, flooring can become damaged if not properly looked after. Using our recommended floor cleaners and preventative methods will lead to clean and new looking floors, which will benefit the space.

What is commercial flooring?

Commercial flooring is suitable for spaces with heavy foot traffic such as offices, schools & hospitals. There are many varieties of commercial flooring such as vinyl tilesmarmoleumsheet vinyl and carpet tiles which are all individual to suit specific needs. Commercial flooring is often built to withstand harsh environments such as exposure to water, moisture, dirt & humidity.

Can I prevent marks and scratches on commercial flooring?

Depending on the type of floor covering there are many different preventative methods that we recommend to keep your floors looking new. The first one being keeping up to date with vacuuming and mopping the floors to make sure any abrasive debris is removed before causing detrimental damage. Also consider that high heels are very abrasive, due to the pressure applied through such a small surface area is considerably more than a regular flat sole shoe.

What product should I use to clean commercial flooring?

Commercial flooring should be treated with care and be cleaned with the correct floor cleaners to ensure the floor covering is preserved in it’s newest state. Shop our commercial floor cleaner range here.

How do I clean commercial entrance mats?

In commercial settings, where there is high foot traffic, entrance mats should be cleaned once a day to ensure the mats are still effective in removing the dirt and debris off of shoes at the entrance. First vacuum on, around and under the entrance mat to remove any debris. Then clean the mat with a carpet extractor and allow it to dry. This should be an adequate way to maintain your entrance mats.
